The thing people who leave abrahamism do not understand is that paganism is not a response to or the antithesis of any abrahamic practice. It does not need to be a costume change between the two, you should be aiming to just let your life unfold as it should naturally. People talking about direct communication to deities (being “godphones or godradios or any of that silly shit) people dressing up like they are living in the Danish golden age, even people requiring a mjolnir or any other pendant in lieu of a cross. None of that is paganism. Sitting and meditating under a tree and listening to the deepest hum of reality around you; this is where the practice begins.

Plain and simple, Heathens need to be better stewards of our faith.

Not pagan but I agree. Thank you for writing this.

Just one of the many reasons I beat the drum after morals and values. Unless people know the base philosophies that make up our spiritual folk, it's hard to be anything but a larper. Heathenry is lived not worn like a shirt. As my mentor Valgard Murray always said "Asatru is not a religion. Religion requires hierarchy. Asatru is a spirituality, a culture and a people."

Well done Kinsman!

Thank you brother! That’s absolutely true, we really must insist as a Folk that our ideals, and our beliefs are the cutting edge of the practice of our communities. The aesthetics have their place, but if Asatru is not a religion, then it is definitely not an outfit!

Honored to have inspired your excellent mind somewhat, and great continuation of this topic! Real practitioners/heathens etc really have nothing to fear in, and only benefit by, addressing this subject head-on and embracing it not as the lame dunk online Christianbros intend it as (how adorable), but as an invitation to depth. Onward to glory!
